    The national sport of Sri Lanka is Volleyball. Cricket is the most popular sport in Sri Lanka. The game of Volleyball was introduced to Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) in 1916 by Mr R.W. Camack the then Director of Physical Education at the Colombo Y.M.C.A. The Volleyball Federation was formed in 1951.
